Oh Deer

On the way to Driggs this afternoon, saw a sight: Near the Teton River as it curls around the western edge of the city of Teton, we saw three deer bound across State Highway 33 and duck underneath a set of rolling sprinklers in a field to the south of the road. They stared at us with their big black eyes, like deers' eyes, then trotted off into the field.

Michelle asked if we'd had a full moon the night before.

Huh?

Apparently, she said, deer are often seen in the daytime following a full moon. She didn't know why -- just lore from a friend who hunts.

There was not a full moon last night.

"Well," Michelle said. "There goes another theory."
